Salt Lake City Farmers Market

One fun thing to do in Salt Lake City is to spend the afternoon at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market. Typically open  on Saturdays, this is a great place to find fresh, local produce, admire handmade arts and crafts, and enjoy breakfast or lunch from some food trucks in SLC.

Decades

One of the coolest spots to shop in Salt Lake City is at the vintage apparel shop, Decades. Their gathering of vintage apparel is great and with sensible costs and top notch stock, going by Decades is a must do activity in Salt Lake City!

Trolley Square

Home to the notable trolley station in the 1800s, Trolley Square is Salt Lake City’s most well known malls. Offering one of a kind shopping, eating, and excitement in an enchanting, noteworthy air. Trolley Square was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Historical Sights

Utah State Capitol

Take a tour (Monday through Friday) of the state government building of Utah, built in 1912. This building overlooks the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Salt Lake City.  The capitol grounds are walkable even when tours are unavailable.

Family History Library

Salt Lake City is home to the largest genealogical library in the world. Take your family to explore the collections of family histories, or speak with genealogists and other expert guides to figure out your own family history, free of charge.

Ensign Peak

Take a hike up Ensign Peak. This hill named for Brigham Young in 1847. Salt Lake City is a fun experience to share a view with such an important person in Salt Lake City’s history.

Music and the Spoken Word

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir traces its roots here. Performing for this first time in August 1847, it has now evolved into one of the most recognized and revered musical organizations in the world. This is one of the most iconic things to do in Salt Lake City.

Entertainment Ideas 

Broadway Centre Theatre

Operated by the Salt Lake Film Society, the Broadway Center Theater is an astounding spot to go in Salt Lake City for foreign and indie films. Check out their cool concession stand!

Wiseguys Comedy Club

The Leonardo Museum

A standout amongst the most unique encounters in Salt Lake City is to visit the Leonardo Museum for their variety of exhibits and exploration into science, technology, art, and innovation. Displays are often changing in the gallery and cover a wide variety of topics such as an exhibit on trailblazing women or an exhibit that is purely made up of forgeries.

The Depot

Some Utah entertainment events are held at The Depot, a 4-story building downtown. This is an awesome spot for medium sized shows, giving a more cozy and up and close involvement for the audience.

Park City, Utah

Park City lies just 30 miles east of Salt Lake City. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it’s bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes.  Utah Olympic Park, to the north, hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and is now predominantly a training facility.
